2006 - Dan, Joe, Will, Matt Laurel, Susie

The QP
were formed in 2006 when Warwick Folk Festival Director Dick Dixon heard Will playing harmonica and suggested he put a band
together.
This led to not very much until a few weeks before the festival, when Will suddenly realised that
he had a gig with no band. Panic ensued briefly, while he approached the other band members, and the 'Quarter Pounders',
the original name, was born shortly afterwards.
The 2006 festival was a great success, and we agreed that it
would be a shame to leave it as a one off gig. We therefore decided to give it a go, and played a few gigs during 2006 and
2007, which were great fun, and entirely unprepared.
In 2008, we decided to try for a few more festival bookings,
and changed our name to the The QP (which sounds a little healthier). A fantastic season followed with some truly memorable
moments.
In 2009, Tim Yates joined the band as our bass player, and made his debut at Ely Folk Festival. There
were now seven to fit on the stage, and yet more instruments to sound check.
